ABOUT REVA AMBA
Reva Amba is the space where I offer spiritual practices and share simple wisdom for a more conscious life. Through yoga classes, cooking workshops, essential oil groups and more, the aim of Reva Amba is to help guide you back to yourself with simple and practical tools for everyday life. My approach to wellness is one of balance and freedom, a practise for living and healing that utilises ancient Eastern wisdom as a map to support modern lives.
After over a decade as a professional chef in Michelin starred restaurants throughout Europe and beyond I returned to Galway, Ireland. Here I opened a small, local haven for good food and great coffee. I began taking regular weekly yoga classes and my interest in a more holistic way of living began.
Inspired by the yogic way of life and philosophy, the need to deepen my experience grew. A few years later I closed the cafe to start a new exploration. This journey led me to the Satyananda Ashram in Australia where I studied yoga and ran the Ashram kitchen. Frequent trips to India, Bihar Yoga Bharati and Rikhia for Sadhana and Seva deepened my understanding and love for these practises further.
Again, I returned to Ireland, where I opened and ran the Bindu Yoga centre until moving to London in 2008. Having started a family in London, next came Reva Yoga Studio, a community-oriented, collaborative space for holistic classes, workshops, performance and city retreats. There we welcomed some of London’s best loved teachers, musicians, practitioners, and hosted specialised events, alongside my own regular classes.
Crossing borders to explore new lands, our next stop is Portugal, where I will continue to offer simple tools for a better way of being and of living ever more gracefully on this earth. I look forward to working with you both in person and virtually.
Qualifications: Satyananda Yoga Teaching Diploma, British Wheel of Yoga Certified, Birthlight Yoga for Pregnancy, Integrated Mother and Baby Yoga, Toddler Yoga, certified Birth Doula, Sunshine House Thai Massage Diploma. Professional Chef in Relais et Chateaux, small Luxury Hotels of the world, worked with Raymond Blanc at Le Manoir aux quat Saisons, along with other Michelin kitchens and restaurants across Europe. National Young Chef of the year, Ireland,1992. Also represented Ireland in the World Skills Olympics, Taiwan, Taipei, 1993.
